After months of searching, and years of waiting..... I finally have my own potter's wheel! I'm setting up a studio in my parents' garage (sounds great, I know)where I will be able to make pottery on my own potter's wheel!

Gone are the days where I could use the studio clay at school, and thus begin the days where I have to buy my own clay, buy and fire my own kiln, and keep my studio clean. But it'll be great, and I look forward to these days with exuberance. Next up is the kiln search (bisque kiln first.. which I guess I could use for low fire stuff....), and in lieu of my recent college graduation, my parents have decided to get me a kiln as a gift! I have no idea what I want, and I hope I can find out soon!

I'll probably put up a picture of my little studio sometime soon, so I can share my excitement with you all.

oh, by the way. My wheel is a Randall electric kick wheel (hence the title of my post). If you're wondering, this is the same kind that we have in the studio at Houghton College.

I saw your pottery on the Ceramics Clan and I think it is very nice! When I went to your page, I noticed that you also do historical costuming... are you by any chance in the SCA?
