After months of searching, and years of waiting..... I finally have my own potter's wheel! I'm setting up a studio in my parents' garage (sounds great, I know)where I will be able to make pottery on my own potter's wheel! Gone are the days where I could use the studio clay at school, and thus begin the days where I have to buy my own clay, buy and fire my own kiln, and keep my studio clean. But it'll be great, and I look forward to these days with exuberance. Next up is the kiln search (bisque kiln first.. which I guess I could use for low fire stuff....), and in lieu of my recent college graduation, my parents have decided to get me a kiln

I have been busy working away at things, and of course have not added any new work since this past spring! I have a new historical costume to put up, and some ceramic pieces that I made over the summer, and some new ones from this fall! AND the kiln is ready to be unloaded tomorrow! YAY It's just like Christmas, and I can't wait.

How does one ever hope to make a living being an artist? It seems to be few options:  teach (so more kids fall in love with art and then realize there's not much to do with it for a job), be a graphic designer at some company, or be a starving artist up in some loft somewhere... I don't seem to fit any of those! There is not enough demand for good pottery.. cause people can get a nice looking mug at a 'big store' for a fraction of the price.
